Changelog

What's new and what's improved. Most recent at the top.

Fix

AI clip-picking restored on every Twitch source

Twitch streams without YouTube-style auto-captions were silently falling back to evenly-spaced clip suggestions instead of AI-picked moments. Fixed — every Twitch VOD or clip now gets proper AI-picked highlights with virality scores, hook lines, and the transcript snippet that earned each pick.

New

Cleaner clip previews on Twitch sources

Twitch's Follow / Gift a Sub / Subscribe overlay no longer covers the play button on clip preview cards. Previews now use a clean HTML5 player so you can scrub, pause, and review each pick without fighting the embedded player UI.

New

First-frame thumbnails on the clip picker

Cards on the AI clip picker now show the actual first frame of each clip as a poster image, so you can see what's in each moment before clicking play. Cards look like real video thumbnails instead of empty placeholders.

Faster

Faster Twitch analysis (~30% quicker)

Two changes shipped together that cut analyze time on Twitch sources from ~8 min down to ~5-6 min on a one-hour VOD: a faster transcription model that's both quicker and more accurate, and a more direct upload path that skips an intermediate storage hop.

New

Real progress bar during clip analysis

The "Working on your clips" screen now shows a real percentage progress bar that scales with your source video's length, so you can tell at a glance how much longer the analyze step has to run.

Fix

Connecting YouTube during onboarding keeps your place

When you click Connect YouTube on the onboarding wizard, you now land back on the next onboarding step with your channel connected — instead of getting dumped on the dashboard mid-flow.

Fix

Removed an outdated YouTube Shorts length warning

We had a warning telling users their 60-90 second and 90-120 second clips wouldn't qualify as YouTube Shorts. That cap got raised to 3 minutes back in October 2024 — every clip Reelium produces is now correctly Shorts-eligible, and the misleading warning is gone.

Platform

Twitch and Kick clips now render end-to-end

Paste any Twitch or Kick clip / VOD URL — Reelium pulls the source, runs your selected clip through the render pipeline, and produces a 9:16 short ready for TikTok, Reels, Shorts and X. Live preview embeds the source platform's own player.

New

Public system status page

A new /status page shows the live state of every part of the service — database, render worker, configuration. We believe in being honest about uptime; if something's degraded you'll see it before your render hits an error.

Fix

Faster, more reliable YouTube source fetching

Replaced the third-party YouTube downloader API (which kept producing IP-locked URLs that failed at render time) with our own self-hosted yt-dlp service. Render success rate is back to ~100%.

New

Free-tier exports now include a Reelium watermark

Free-plan exports get a small "Made with Reelium" overlay. Any paid plan (Basic, Pro, Agency) exports clean, no watermark — including 7-day free trials.

New

Pro plan: 7-day free trial

New users can try Pro — including unlimited captions, 9:16 vertical export, and word-level karaoke captions — for 7 days, no charge. Cancel any time before the trial ends and you won't be billed.

New

Sidebar usage pills

Your monthly clip and render usage now shows in the sidebar, so you can see at a glance how close you are to your plan's cap.

New

Annual billing default + 20% off

All paid plans now default to annual billing, with two months free baked in. Switch to monthly any time on the billing page.

New

Public showcase grid

Featured clips now appear on the homepage and a dedicated /showcase page, so visitors can see what Reelium creators are publishing.

Faster

Faster transcript generation

Transcripts are now cached per source video, so re-analysing a video you've already processed is instant and costs nothing.

New

Karaoke captions back on the editor

Word-level karaoke captions (each word lights up as it's said) are available again on the clip editor for any clip with audio.
